Message of Freedom is a puzzle based scenario with a unique gameplay. As a messenger of the Mastites, assailed by a huge Nabri attack, you must find helpers and get your message to a secret base in the north. Once you have found this stronghold the scenario goes from a puzzle FF to a puzzle B&D, but the style quickly changes back to FF as resources are used up, and distances from your buildings increase. I really enjoyed the unique gameplay of this scenario, it's takes a little while to get used to, but it's a huge variation from the normal style, and though it isn't very fast paced, it's enjoyable to pass each obstacle and eventually return to the start and convert the powerful units that were attacking your city.

Balance: 5

For me the difficulty here was really good - lots of little skirmishes and puzzles that required thought and tactics, rather than a good overall strategy. Perhaps a little hard or difficult to get used to for rookie players, but I thought balance was perfect.

Creativity: 5

This fiction tale has a very unique puzzle and tactical based gameplay. The units and map are set up with deft placement, which results in highly tactical fighting in small, separated battles. Little things like healing with priests while attacking etc will make the gameplay interesting at every stage. Though the objectives are simple, the gameplay hosts more than enough creativity, while the map design is an interesting forest style with a wide variety of trees.

Map Design: 4

A good use of the terrain brush makes very nice design, with a little, well placed eye candy, like oak trees mixed among the forests, decorated temples etc. The map made for much of the interesting gameplay, both in the delicate placement of towers, the strengths and weaknesses of enemy units, and the path you follow as a whole.

Story/Instructions: 4

A short and solid instructions area, with a brief fiction story, and helpful hints that make the scenario more accessable to less experienced players. I like the way the instructions were blended into the story.

Overall: 4.4

A great find, and a must play especially for designers. I found myself getting a lot of ideas while playing, something that hasn't happened for quite a while.
c4master Nothing more to add. This is a nice scenario and I'd give just the same points as Richard ;)

Very good creativity, a very good balnce due to the "tactical map". You have to use every advantage you can get. I played this scenario nearly 3 hours (2 hours on 1.5x speed) and enjoyed it. Indeed I'm glad to see designers do my favorite style: puzzle mixed up with restricted B&D and a little fixed force in the beginning. And the best thing: There are only 3 useless units in the whole map. That's good playtesting!

Hope you will have just as much fun as I had playing this flawless piece of design work.
