The mighty Roman Empire has decided to make Macedonia part of it's empire. Hold off the Roman siege and build 150 military units in order to prevent Rome from taking Macedonia. Do not let the Romans destroy the Macedonian wonder. This scenario is EXTREMELY difficult, players usually last between 2 and 10 minutes. Singleplayer also : No
Macedonia is actually a single player scenario. The player is supposed to go through the multiplayer setup screen so that the pop limit can be raised to 200. The map was a random map, and a little too small to accomodate all of the units. The scenario does not have a story, and little instruction. Balance was not very good. The player has no time to prepare, and begins in bronze against a huge post-iron attacking force. The walls and towers should hold for a while, but the enemy has so many Legions and Heavy Catapults that most anything will be leveled quickly. In addition, Macedonia's stable is lacking, even though Cataphracts and Armored Elephants (or Centurions) in combination might be the player's only chance. The idea of a single player scenario with a 200 pop is somewhat creative, but it can cause lag and slow-downs. The huge numbers in the scenario detract from the playability, rather than add to it, since the player cannot manage so much (in such a small amount of time) effectively. In summary, I did not enjoy this scenario.
