I have ROR HD (also known as UPatch HD, the "Unofficial Patch HD" version) and have played lots of maps and scenarios and even though some of them have had glitches that kept me from beating them, the only one that crashes my game is the map called "Meditteranean Sea 200 BC" from the "[REAL] Maps" series.

All the maps that I tried worked, except for:
[ R E A L ] # 3 - Meditteranean Sea 200 BC.scx

When I loaded up this map to play it in Single Player, my whole game crashed. Then the next time I tried to play any single player game, my game kept crashing. The only way that I found to run any of my single player scenarios at all is to delete this particular map from my software files, but of course this means that I can't play the map. I don't know if I am the only one having this problem, since I do use the ROR HD version, rather than the official version.

One little thing that stuck out at me in the properties for the Meditteranean Sea file was that it is dated as Last Modified in May 2014. All the other files in that map pack were dated as 2003-2009. And the author (Brainless_AOKH) was last on AOE Heaven in 2015. So it seems like he made or worked on this file much later than the other ones.

I tried loading the map in my Scenario Editor and my game crashed while my Editor was trying to load the map.

Is there some way to use process of deduction to look at the file data to consider possible causes of the problem? The designer didn't include his contact information in the file.

In the Comments Section for the "Real Maps" file, Daniel wrote: "All maps, but India doesn't appear to work on scenario editor, or any other mode to work."

I am not sure if he means that:
(A) All maps work, except India doesn't appear to work on scenario editor or on any other mode.

(B) All maps but India don't appear to work on scenario editor or to work on any other mode.

I guess that he means (B) because it just requires changing "doesn't" to "don't."

I got all maps that I tried, including India, to work in my Gameplay or in my ROR (original version) Scenario Editor, except that I could get the "Meditteranean Sea 200 BC" map to work in neither the Gameplay nor Editor modes of my ROR original and ROR UPatch versions.

I've been having trouble to get another map in that same Map Pack to play for long on Multiplayer: #1 The Middle East - Persia - 8 player. It is a AOE:ROR, 2 v. 6 map, from "8 real world maps" pack) to work on the AOE: DE version on Multiplayer. I beat the original AOE:ROR version of the scenario as Player 1 on Single Player, so at least it works in that mode.

But on MULTIPLAYER, I couldn't get it to play past 19 minutes. It repeatedly crashed on Game Ranger and Voobly, even when I played with even 1 other Human and only 50 units on only Normal speed. The people I tried it with were good players in the US and France with good connections.

So the only thing that I can think of to make it work on Multiplayer is that if I convert it to work on AOE: DE, then the AOE: DE platform and servers might be strong enough to make it work on Multiplayer.

Middle East (North) Map with Roman-Parthian Wars that I made by using the "X Middle East (North)" Map by S_Bishop also crashed 19 minutes into the match with Upstairs as P6 on my Team and the rest being AIs. I am guessing that it's the same problem as with #1 The Middle East - Persia, ie. the map has some problem that is accentuated when you play with 8 Players (including AIs), although we were playing with 200 units per player. Upstairs has a good connection and we played the "Land of Canaan with Indigenous Powers" Map fine, but that was only 6 Players total, unless you count the inactive AI.
