The Computer Gaming World Demo version of Age of Empires is here! (spoilers below)
This rare build is now finally playable again after being lost for 13 years. The demo features a 5 scenario campaign, called "Dawn of Civilization". All the info which was previously found on the web before this rare version was uploaded seems to be correct, the build is based on a late beta build, and the third scenario is indeed named Crusade, in which you have to capture (convert) a scout using a priest. Here are some the most notable differences:
* Based on a late beta build
* UI "Menu" and "Diplomacy" are moved to the left
* You play as the Egyptians
* Campaign is called "Dawn of Civilization"
* MP scenario is called "Battle Royale"
* Titlescreen mentions CGW Logo and "Special Edition"
* Campaign scenarios have (demo version) in their names
* Trees have 10 hitpoints, similar to the Trial
* The demo has some slowdown every so often
* Scenario, Random Map, Deathmatch and the scenario editor are not accessable
* Waypoints do not work
* Double clicking a unit does not select all the same units
* Button text is orange
* Instruction screen features pottery
* In the player setup and timeline, different colors are displayed for the civs
Screenshots are available here:

I've uploaded the campaign and scenario to the Granary. They should be up soon, but if you can't wait they are availablehere already.
Thanks toMatt Pritchard for uploading this rare version!
