I've played Age of Empires in April and May of this year. I've played it without patches and the expansion (at that time, I've forgotten that in my old home, 1000 Km far...). When I've played it, I didn't notice any problem. Then, in September, I've installed the expansion, the patches and the Unofficial Patch. It worked, until I've discovered two major bugs:
-You can't progress in the Yamato campaign;
-Some units don't evolve in superior units when you use Post-Iron Age in the editor or when you play scenarios set in that Age.
I've made experiments in the editor.
Those units are:
-Broad Swordsman
-Long Swordsman
-Heavy Cavalry
-Phalanx
-Catapult
-War Galley
-Sentry Tower
-Guard Tower
Now, I've uninstalledeverything, then I've reinstalled Age of Empires, only the original, to see if it was a problem of the UP, the expansion or the patches. The Yamato campaign was fine, but the bug of the unit evolution remained. I'm absolutely sure that that problem wasn't present when I've played in April and May, so I have the suspect that, somehow, the disc of the original game has inherited the bug from the Unofficial Patch.
Can you help me to solve this bug?
