Inspired by the DM rush(generic) poll--
What are your fav DM strats?

I can't stand Persia unless you are in the Iron Age - their villagers are slow until you research jihad, which makes them carry less. They have bad range for missiles, only +1. I do think that a horde of fast AE's coming at you is of some concern, especially since EA's are 3x more effective against centurions than the normal War elephants, and are much better at destroying buildings. After you run out of food they suck.
I find the camel useful in Hittite if you are fighting cavalry, combined with horse archers and/or phalanxes/centurions. Of course, Hittites can counter Persian with...Armoured elephants and centurions. Or use HHA's to harass the Persian ele's while they are blocked by the Hittite ele's.
I also like to use the wall strategy. Exeptionally effective against everything except "butting elephants". Or scythe chariots. Catapults have trouble not killing each other if they try to destroy the un-built walls amongst them. Hand to hand units waste valuable time trying to make a path big enough to fit through without jamming. Same goes for helepolii. Oh, and it doesn't work against boats.
My main choice is usually HHA's with either catapults or centurions/camels.

A bunch of heavy catapults with helepolis or HHA usually kills anything. If the opponent comes with camels/cavalry the helepolis takes them down. Even if they have around 100 cataphracts they'll die and you only lose about 10 helepolis
I tried this with my brother, he had 30-40 helepolis and 5 heavy catapults and I had 50 cataphracts and 50 AE's (I was persia) and he killed everyone and I only killed 10 hellepolis of his

Yes and IMO that's the most important flaw in AoE/RoR: Overpowered siege.

Oops sorry, I read your post wrong. Yes, some RM games can be a real pain, like when the other player is losing and starts to locust across the map. i hate these games because if you dont keep the pressure up it wont take long for them to come back with loads of chariot archers! i was never that good at swarming to save myself from a losing battle, which probably shows my dislike for such games.
don't get me wrong, i have no problem losing a game (i've lost much more than i have won) but i dont have an interest in chasing villies, scouting all the forests continuosly etc during such games. i do try some walling and tower placement but on larger maps it can be a problem getting good coverage.
