Just registered here- boy am I glad this game is still alive. I first played it ages ago, and sucked terribly at it. After reading the material on AOEH, I was able to improve my RM bronze from *cough* 40 *cough* minutes to a more professional 20. On an unrelated note it also improved my Age of Kings Castle, since I simply needed a few generic tips. For some reason I was inclined to always go straight for the next age, rather then actually make a bunch of villagers to gather the resources I needed or to defend my base or wall.
I still get my but kicked by three CPU on Hard though, unless I make them palmyran on a nomad start (heh heh) half the time one of the poor fellows will get attacked by a lion. (only evidence being a skeleton and a damaged lion)
It was either here or AOK heaven, and frankly, I don't like the maturity level of a lot of it's members. (same goes double, or even triple, for AOE3.). It might not always get a lot of new threads, but when it does it is worth it. (either that or somebody confused the real AoE with it's spawn).
Anyway, just throwing a hello out there, because I know for a fact this forum is still alive, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
