Doubled agreed with both of the above posters. It's one of the views of games, and a very popular one too ;D The simple reward of winning a game in AoE due to the fact you planned your upgrades right, gathered resources at a decent rate, built the right army to defend along with the right fortifications to defend key points while you expand and stabilize your now advanced aged civilization, and then finally planting the winning blow through conquering, gathering all the special sites, or some other worth victory condition, that my friend is an accomplishment, every game, every time. ;D
Of course, that's my take, and by no means is it the one pure right answer. Though I myself do believe it is ;D

You all seem to have the same views. I guess it would be a lot more rewarding to do it without cheats. I guess I'm just a bit (err.. a lot) lazy, and use cheats to make everything go faster.
Whenever I get into strife, and can't handle it, I use the cheats to help control it. -kicks self-

:-O
It's a game. Play it however you like.
I don't cheat. I don't have a problem with it, I just never feel the urge to do so. Come to think of it, I do remember cheating in AoK in one Saladin campaign where you have to fight the pirates and raiders, because my game crashed after long time no save. I had forgotten "i r winnar" (instant win) so I spammed monkey boys and saboteurs and gave meself endless resources (found myself typing quarry and coinage on more than one occasion though :P) to win ASAP without wasting time. That was pretty amusing ~~

The "reveal map" should not be regarded as a cheat. I mean you can select it before starting a game if you want. As for the "no fog", i use it when i am designing and i want to know if anything goes as i programmed to.

Thanks for the welcome. ^__^
Ah, I never knew you could select reveal map at the beginning. I don't often play AoE.

At last, I thought i was the only new guy round here! To be honest, it is really difficult for a site, which refers to a tenth-year game, to have new members.

When I just got the game and played the SP campaigns, I used cheatcodes a lot. I had heard so much about the infamous BigDaddy and the "baby in the pram" from my friends that I simply had to see them for myself. In the end I kept on winning and it got really boring after a few times.
