hi guys, ive just downloaded the age of empires 1 expansion the rise of rome trial version and some .cpx campaign files but they dont seem to work, HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi and welcome. It's correct that you can't play downloaded campaigns and scenarios in the trial version. You can play the First Punic War campaign that comes with it though.

i did everything you said, but whe i downloaded it into the folder it said i needed to write it to disc. I tried to write it to disc but it says the disc is unwriteable.

You should save it to your harddisk, not to a CD. If you can't save to your harddisk, you probably don't have an administrator account (XP problem). In that case save it to your My documents folder and have the file moved to its correct place by somebody with admin rights. If the admin account isn't the problem your harddisk may be damaged. Check your harddisk.

Click the Start button (if you're running Win XP), then find the command Run (I have the Dutch XP so I don't know for sure what it's called in English). Click on it, then type regedit in the text box and Press Enter or click OK. Alternatively, find regedit.exe and run it. Then you have to find the keys for AoE. I never did that, so I can't help you any further.

Um, every time i try to create a scenario, no matter what strategy, city plan, personality, whatever i do. my enemy just builds a granery and storage pit and gathers resorces, nothing else. whats wrong?
