Yamato Rush (Death Match)
If theres one thing I know it's Deathmatch. In this guide I will teach you a basic maneuver used in Age of Empires. This strategy I am teaching is commonly used in Age of Empires, but I thought I would type it out in my point of view ;-).
Yamato Rush (Heavy Horse Archers)
Yamato's Archer units are cheap, you can mass together more Heavy Horse Archers than the Hittie's, who have +1 attack for Archers, the more Yamato Heavy Horse Archers you have the better of a chance you have to win. When you first start the game start creating five more Town Centers and begin painting your area with Archery Ranges, the more you have the better. Start creating a Horse Archer and send it to the other guys town, hopefully he will have some blank buildings you can take down, the more of the blank buildings you take down the better for you, because even though they aren't built they still cost quite a bit of wood for each of them. While you have about twenty-five villagers from the six Town Centers you built start building a market and research Siege Craft, also when you get a Storage Pit and Goverment Center reasearch Archer Armor +2 at the Storage Pit and reasearch Balastics at the Goverment Center when you have done this go to a Archery Range and research Heavy Horse Archers. Please Note during a Death Match game try and mine all the gold on the map, because Yamato use alot of gold, but less than Hittie do, but Hittie also have Chariots so their pretty good, now if you come on a Choson player or Minoan Player it's very easy, you have the Yamato run alittle back and attack them, If it's a Minoan player and he has alot of Composite Bowmen, mass your Yamato next to them, this elimates their Fast fire rate and thus you kill off alot of Composite Bowmen.
Beware! If there are shallows be careful, Shallows are very good kill zones for Archers, if you are playing a Choson Player and walls are allowed wall up the Shallow and have your Heavy Horse Archers lined up around the wall, this will kill alot of Legions before they reach your wall.
My Worst Experience
The most worst experience I have had in Age of Empires is playing a guy named Crimson_War, he was Choson, my pard was Yamato and I was Minoan, Crimson_War's pard was Yamato. We were battling and my partner forgot to protect a shallow and ended up losing alot of land to Crimson_War, after I had him come to my land I walled it up and sent as many villagers as I could to mine as much gold as possible. I started to wipe out most of Yellows town right at the beginning, he was no match and he tried to build a wall around his town, but I cut had cut them down very fast, you see Minoan Composite Bowmen have the longest range and fire rate in the game, but they have little hp, so you see if they have a wall at the shallows they can cut any unit you want down, but I mostly use Yamato why? because they have the horses who are really fast, there archer attack isn't the supermacy to the game, but by how much they cost is, only 35 food and 50 gold, wow that is a good deal and whats even better is, if you trash talk your opponent, sometimes they get scared, I do it all the time, and sometimes you don't even know I am joking, I'll say sometimes, "you better watch I have 150 Heavy Horse Archers at your border" this scared many people and ends up sending little forces to attack which in ends up wiping them out, the point of the game is, if you mine all gold on the map and theres no more and you have mined the most chances are, you may win, however this isn't always true, this one guy I have played had mined 10,000 gold plus a 10,000 gold tribute from his parner with food, gold, wood and stone and so I had to work fast, I had gotten all the gold off my allys land, because he deleted all his units and buildings! I decided to make 35 farms and after I had collected 28,000 food I started to work on trees, for you see even though you may run out of gold theres always massed Bowmen.
Tactical Points
If your in trouble and are about to die look for points of attack, hills and shallows work well, you get a bonus attack on hills which would equal up to the attack of a Hittie Heavy Horse Archer. Shallows help, because not all of a players units can get through, if you have all your archers at that shallow you shall prevail, sometimes you win sometimes you don't.
More about me.
I been playing Age of Empires for five years, I developed a love for the game when we got our first computer, at the time I was tweleve years old and formed my very first clan that year, it was called Clan 187 and we had 15 members in it, but for reasons of Clan 187 being a gang in the real world, I closed it down about the time Age of Kings was made in 1999.In 2000, Kingkerry formed something called Kingkerry Knights Of the Round Table or Kkort for short.
