What fun. I have never had that many armored elephants to command. (At the most I have had maybe 3) I just couldn't believe their power of destruction.

And I got caught up in demolishing the yellow town and all of its folks. Just grand. I haven't had that kind of army ever. Wheee! Brought out a little side of myself I didn't know I had.

But alas. I was defeated. I got Hannibal mixed in with all the others and he was killed. Also, the pathway is not so easy.

But I don't care. I will play again soon.

I love this campaign.(Enemies of Rome, #1)

Thanks, Peter, but I take no comfort yet. When I win on easiest I will take comfort, but not until.

I get so mad at that herd of elephants trying to come down a narrow, insane pathway, that I have to give it a few days rest before cranking up again.

If they would just come down like I "tell" them to, it would be fine, but they get distracted with every thing that moves and run off in different directions.

And then the longer it takes for them to finally get through the more the computer builds up forces.

I think I could protect Hannibal alone. But THREE of them is asking a lot! One of them always gets killed while I am managing another...

Consider this:
When you're learning to play the piano, you don't _start_ with Rachmaninov's third piano concerto, you first need to get some practice, master the technique, that kind of thing. The same holds for playing AOE.

What, what, didn't you know? How come? You have to get those three armoured elles to the flags, the rest can perish if you like them to.

I tried it again, you do have to get all 3 of 'em across the finish line.

Tried it on easiest this time, and beat it in 25 minutes flat. Piece o' cake!
Some advice, don't bother with any of the enemies , just get some of the walls out of the way and keep heading for the finish line. Use your vills to build an archery range and produce 5 archers, after that don't bother with your vills, just leave 'em behind. There's just no way you can go wrong.

Well, if I could put blinders on all those elephants I think we could get down the mountain path!

Will give it another go.

I completed the Hannibal one on my second go but I must admit that was on easiest.

Is the second mission the macedonian one because thats about twice as hard as Hannibal. Took me over 3 hours to complete and this must of been my 10-20 go.

Dark_Avenger,

What a neat thought! I guess it is not always about winning. I like what you said: "...tasting the battle."

Kind of like Zen and living in the moment.

Thanks for the shift of focus!

Sara:

You know, it's funny to make a "race" and finish the scn somewhere between 25 or 40 minutes but the fun stop there and you quickly realize that this kind of fun is short.
(and maybe you can have no satisfaction)

It's like making a tool rush 1 vs 1 against the computer...

As you, I like to take my time, so, most of the time I'm a defensive player against the computer. I admit that some scns or some situations push you to be more offensive!!!

see ya!

Hi Darky, nice to see you're back.
Yes, take your time with Hannibal - you more or less have to anyway, with the elles running all over the map just because they get stuck somewhere. Am I glad that ther's no-one here to check that I play it dayly
