Some people think that these statistics are useful to everybody; I'd say they are only of use for advanced players, like intermediates and better. They're also very useful for people who never play Example: What can we learn from this? Simply that with shore fishing you need one villager less for food gathering than with berries and with hunting you need one more. Fast food gives you an extra villager. That extra villager can cut wood or explore, which can give you an edge. If you don't use that, you can forget all about these numbers straight away. The other numbers are probably only interesting for advanced players who are good at planning and fine-tuning. As long as you find the game rather overwhelming it's better to find some kind of routine way to start to make the best of it. Flame away
- Building a new villager costs 20 sec so you need to have 50 food available when a new one appears if you want to maintain a steady production of villagers at the start of the game. You'll have to press HC fast when a villager appears; if your reflexes aren't so fast doing the following math is completely pointless IMO.
Berries: At .45 f/s (that means 9f/20s) you need 6 villagers (5 if you're very quick building a granary) on berries to maintain that flow.
Shore fishing: You only need 4 villagers in AOE (rate .8f/s = 16f/20s) and 5 in ROR (rate = .6f/s = 12f/20s).
Hunting: Same as with berries except that it probably involves more walking so you may need an extra villager there. Persian villagers work faster (.75f/s) so you need only 4 of them for food gathering.
