This may seem a bit amateurish for all you expert players, but here is my strat. It's in the testing mode right now but I hope it'll work eventually. Any civ will do but I personally prefer Romans.
I. Stone Age: First two villies build 1 house each, while the third searches for berries. In the meantime create a villager at your TC. After the huts are completed and your villager created continue looking for berries if you haven't found some already. If you have build a granary and send your first 6 villagers on berries. Next have your 7th and 8th villagers on wood. You should use your next villager to build a house then send him to get berries, along with your tenth and eleventh villager. Your twelth, thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth villager are on wood. By this time you should have enough wood to build a Storage Pit. Do so, then proceed to build a house and continue with the villager creation process. Have your 16th, 17th, and 18th villagers mine stone. Send your berry-men to any near food source (whether it's elephants, gazelles, or more berries just do it). While you're doing this go to Tool Age.
II. Tool Age: Here the strat becomes important. While you are going Tool I recommend building a Barracks so that immediately upon getting to the Tool Age you can build a stable and Scout. Keep pumping out villagers, putting them on a combination of wood, stone, and gold. Set aside between 3 and 5 villagers for later... Now, have your scout find your nearest enemy (BTW, this strat works best in a 1 vs 1 but can be used effectively in other games). Now go back to your town and research the watch tower reasearch from the Granary. Now use the 3-5 villagers you set aside to build towers in your enemies town. Have 1 of them build as many Barracks and Stables as possible, all the while keeping all villies at a safe distance (this requires a good scouting technique!). Now use your other villies to build towers in a kind of chain or snake-like pattern, slowly building upon your enemy while making a few slingers for defense. You should have enough resources to go Bronze, do so and keep building those towers.
III. Bronze Age: I'm about to eat so I'll make this quick. Immediately begin making as many cavalry as your economy allows and keep building. This should almost totally force your enemy to re-locate giving you the upper hand.
