Yes but there's new people, and I want to see if they have anything to say. Plus, what else am I going to talk about, when any strategy advice I give gets stomped, logic ignored and mathematical proof brushed off? If I'm left with nothing to discuss except the weather and what I had for lunch, why should I talk about it here rather than somewhere else? Sorry for rambling, just in a bit of a bad mood today. Sorry.

wedsaz: Well, cheer up then. And of course you could start a discussion about strats to win the campaigns - lots of ppl are interested in THAT. And I can't win all of them at higher difficulty levels so a few hints would be nice. But IMO the discussion of the ROR balance is closed. Darius is right there - we had a nice and long discussion of it, got lots of ppl immensely irritated and finally had lots of them sign your petition - what more can you want? You can't now start saying that was invalid and start the thing all over again. Read the Tao Te Ching for a change - it has some solid advice for ppl who aren't believed anymore.

Dave: A short while ago they still had too few votes for submitting anything - dunno how it's now.

thanks to recent unfortunate events, the signature count almost went back to 0, but we are still no where near ready to submit it. Since the game has been dead for a long time, I figure waiting won't hurt anyway.

I personally think they should just re-make the entire game (new graphics, better balance, etc.). But if indeed they do make a patch I think they should possibly work out some balance, maybe speed centurions up a tad and slow down certain other units, etc. Maybe modify the HP and AP of units, this sounds broad but I'm not kidding. I also think they should make all towers 100 stone and make the Romans bonus to 25% off tower cost. Also possibly add some bonus to "less fortunate" civs, such as the Greeks.

darius: He didn't say anything about changing the timeperiod, and balance doesn't necessarily have to mean ridiculously small civ bonuses or ridiculously large counterunit bonuses. Don't get me wrong, ES does work hard - the medieval ages weren't very varied, so it must be hard trying to come up with enough varied civs and units to fill it. I haven't seen any other medieval war games that included the muslim and asian civs as well as the european ones. Too bad they didn't give the aztecs and mayans some llama riders, it would have made a cool stable unit for them.
