Well its tough to get a decent bronze with them. That's why the tool rush seems more practical at times. At least with Yammy you get the 30% villie speed, plus cheaper scouts, and the +30% ship HP, but assy only has the increased ROF and the 30%. BUT.... Shang gets no resource bonus other then the decrease villie amount. And assy villies move faster. So i find that very effective when you find shore fish but a little wider spread apart, where ordinarly it waould take too long for a regular villie to gather, but for my fast assy villies, its no problem. That comes in useful on wet maps. like I said scouting too is very helpful, and lion attacks. But I depending on my surroundings, go with a 16 villie tool, then a 18 villie bronze. Not including my boats. Yes a small boat boom does help, especially when your bronzing you'll be glad you made em in stone/tool. But I almost always "pass". I never stay long in tool, unless of course I'm doing a tool rush "duh". With assy though I tend to get 14 min bronzes witch I'm not too happy with, and I know I could do faster. mind you this is on a no reveal map. on reveal, I get consistent 12:40 bronze. Still can't beat m shang time though, but good enough. It easy walling with assy too, same as yammy. But Other then Archers, with you can onlt get bowmen with, assy is almost as bad as carth. Not much to counter with. So assy is pretty much a tool only civ. You could boat boom with em though, but mino would be a better choice for that. The little speed boost helps in stone wood gathering. quite a bit. But I like assy cause its a little more chalenging to play with. But I get a lot of wise acres who counter my assy with "Random" witch is a slap in the face. I can already see the taunts now, "I rule your assy with random" If they get Roman, or palmy, they'll have their steroid pumping villies with ST's and slingers jumping all over me faster then wedsaz on a balencing debate.
