Your right, also I added to my post before this one, just a minute ago, reglance at it...
------------
We need to start.
------------
**********What we know************
If I am not mistaken, the computer randomly choses between the ai files on RM, unless you create a level of your own.
So that means we have to edit all of the files, make them more chagllening and less.... stupid.... There are two files, Ai and per, which both need massive improvements. AoE and RoR have differant Data folders (data, and data2), I hope that we will do Data 2,and Data 2s Ai files tell you what has been changed...
Example for Egypt: Age X-Pack changes; replaced war elephants with heavy
//chariots; add appropriate upgrades for chariots; replace clubmen with
//slingers; replaced catapults with chariots; made chariots U instead of T;
//added alchemy (for towers); dropped engineering; added nobility
Also the links at post 25, are quite good- try them, you may learn something....
Also, at the granary, there is a program that allows us to edit your own civ, by Micheal its called "Civ Chooser"- but lets save that till later...
Becuase of school, I can't do very much more on the net, I will however study up on the links, and the ai, and per files in data 2, along with the files that go with them, the .cty files are useless, BtW. And hopefully I will know more about the files in Data2 so I can begin to try to make changes, along with the rest of you, and acually know what ya'll are talking about
-------------
Unless I'm wrong there are several ways to do this editing...
-------------
*One person does it all and puts all of the edited ais and pers in one folder, and sends it to all of the rest of us.
*We each do alittle example: I do Carthage-data2 and Pheonica- data and data2 ai's and someone else does Rome, and Greece and on and on. We divide them equally, or just by how wants what, don't forget, there are Ai files and .per files...
*We all make differant changes and come to this post when we need help (not what I want)
I hope to get many replys to this reply, I'll chack tomarrow [This message has been edited by Caesar Constintine (edited 08-23-2000).]
