7:51 time w/ very fast is good. If you have, say 16 villies. Then you're in EXTREMELY good position to clubber rush someone..if u have like 10 villagers, then you have far too few...
2.0, 1.5, 1.0, do correspond to the names int he settings. Alternatively u can use + to increase the game speed by .5 or - to decrease it.
To clear up the confusion about the times: 2.0, 1.5, and 1.0 effect real time, not game time. In 1.0, a villager builds in 20 seconds on the computer clock (F11), and 20 seconds in real time (say, timed with a stopwatch). In 2.0, a villager builds in 20 seconds on the computer clock, but in 10 seconds in real time. Hope that clears it up.
As for bronze times, when most players claim an eleven minute bronze time, they mean 11 mins as on the GAME CLOCK or on the TIMELINE (which measures time according to the game clock, wedsaz). They DON'T mean 11 mins like on a stopwatch. Maybe that's why Wedsaz was claiming consistent 11 min bronzes...if he was doing it in 1.5 or 2.0 and using a stopwatch, than actually its slower than most brz times...
Phoenix: To start, go to the Academy and read "Crappy Bronzing" by Celestial_Dawn. It will net you a consistent 13 min bronze time, although it really is only useful in the regular Age of Empires with Assyrian against a Yamato player. But it's a good start. Also, go to http://www.gamersx.com/aoe and read everything that's there. Disregard anything that says Phoenecian is good, because with the latest patch they've made them just another "slow civ" (well, almost...+9% is nearly nothing).[This message has been edited by RomanGladius (edited 04-27-2000).]
