if any of you want.... catch me on the zone as _dream_of_w33d_ .... lets do a coop game, and i can show you how to boat boom ..... this is how i learned to boom, by watching someone else.... so if anyone wants to speed up their ror learning process, since ror is kinda dying .... just msg me, i would be glad to help out

although if you are looking for something further, like how to play hills.... well.... everyone manages resources differently, so i cant really help you....

but if you need help booming ..... just zm me

sure it can.... doesnt mean that the one with the cheaper unit will automatically win like you claim..... "yam cant beat mino.... mino will have more ships ... so yam will die....."

winning in ror isnt based on civ attributes..... otherwise i would quit everytime someone got a better civ than me....

and ... equal skill.... while some people may have equal understanding of strats and stuff..... nobody plays identically like another person... i have never seen a game where 2 ppl tool/bronze at exact time with exact amount of peons and exact amount of cavs attacking the other person.... everyone plays differently, and u have to take into account other things like map elevation, resources, how much of ur vills get eaten by kitties..... etc..... thats why again.... ror isnt math ... its random..... anything can happen (anything to a degree, not anything outrageous like some things you mentioned)

Of course it's not automatic. However, on average, the minoan navy has a good chance against the yamato navy... if the minoan economy had time to gain strength.
In my experience, civ attributes play a very large factorin who will win. Even a small difference can change the outcome. I think yamato's navy is very unlikely to win against minoan's in RM between mid-tool and mid-iron. Therefore, with yamato against minoan, I'd make damn sure I fight them at some other time. Preferably, I'd take a civ better suited to fighting minoan. That's what I was trying to say.
Yes, you're right there's a lot of variation in, umm, *random* maps and playing styles. I'd even add that the even same person will probably not play the exact same way ever again. However I think you underestimate the importance of civ and unit attributes. I wouldn't take yam vs minoan any more than I'd take a cav against a camel.
That doesn't mean minoan is "better" than yam, but I believe every civ and strat can be stopped by certain other civs and strats. I think minoan generally is good vs yamato. From what I've seen, hittite is quite good vs minoan. I also strongly believe that yamato is good vs hittite, and would play them if against a hittite. It's not a ladder, it's a loop.
I don't quit when people pick a civ that beats the one I chose; I pick another civ. That's also why I never, ever play random civs: I always go in with a plan. Even a bad plan is better than no plan, because it can be improved upon. Things can be learned from it upon further analysis.

You hope someone nukes the hell out of Blackheart? I hope you don't really mean that.
Not being able to play the game you love is hell, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
