I don't agree with Constintine, I think you can make some very realistic cities, and have them be alot more fun then Caesar 3. IMHOTEP did. I know I have. There are some design tricks you can try in the seige workshop. a few I know is, in a city where you want it to look like it's been inhabited for a while, use desert to make paths with a few desert patchs to add a nice touch. don't always build houses in uniform order, real cites don't look like that, place them irregular. Put a few trees next to them. add a couple infantry next to the gate for guards, or place bowman next to a watchtower. In the Persian wars cpn, that guy made some REALLY nice cities. download it and learn. that's what I did, i learned from every possible cpn I could find, taking in all the details used to make it a good cpn. one thing too, not all cities had walls going all around, a lot used natural defenses, and they hade rivers runing through them too, like Egypt had the Nile. also, if your working on a big scale you can build a city, inside a city and have it be the capitol. then last but not least, make your own! just fool around, see what you come up with.

Your right, in AOE you can make great cities, Im just saying if building is all you want to do, then C3 or Pharaoh is an option.

I know, but he didn't ask that in the question, he just wanted to know how to make more realistic cities. that's why I said what I said. Geez seems like everyone's bailing on AOE.
