How much attention do you really have to give in a battle.
I have been noticing lately that left on their own my troops sometimes fight better.
Mind you I love Generalling my troops them and directing the battle but I neglect my eco badly every time I do this.
If I leave my ranged units alone they seem to fight pretty well ! Less well sighted units like Cams and Cavs need micromanagement cause they only attack when fired on… and by the time 5 compies are shooting at your cav he is as good as dead !
At times I even feel… due to lag… that cats and archery units auto target better if I don’t control them. Several times I have retargeted cats only to watch them barely get off a shot. Left alone they seem to fire at twice the rate !
Recently this seems to be paying off… while I am losing more battles my eco is providing the resources to fight again. It’s like the old adage.. you can lose the battles as long as you win the war… a little bit like the Russians in WW2.
I thought maybe someone like Neilkaz or Thorfinn may have something more definitive on this topic than my anectodal, unscientific theory.
