Other Dm experts have commented on the lack of competition.
Frankly it exists in both Rm and Dm. The level of playing has not achieved that which was achieved in AoE.
I do not know if this is due to the prevalence of cheating in AoE, or just a much longer period of time in which people can hone their skills.
To find competive games in RoR is rather difficult without concending to play someone elses little pet setting.
Anyway, on to dm, the original responder is fairly clueless of the level of skill required to master Dm. The skill required is different then that required to master Rm, but it exists none the less.
To prove the point, I would note that top level dm players have better win streaks then do top level Rm Players, odviously it cant be due to chance, as it would be more random if so.
Anyway, I am fairly good at dm, good enough to have a decent perspective on the game. I wouldnt be so foolish as to call myself an expert dm'r, but I am close. Anyway, if you want expert dm games, you need to find players who are experts, and play them, pay attention to who is good, and who is not.
There are several expert dm'rs out there, you just need to find them.
