I am no fan of rap.
However, you are waaaay to vain, if you believe that one must simply stand in front of a microphone with tourettes to get rich rapping.
Have you ever tried writing actual words together? I've seen some very impressive rap lyrics (coming from a literature viewpoint.) Rap is, in one aspect, an expression of culture. They are telling about their background, their way of life, and what they know. I'd rather listen to some rap than listen to some young white dude (such as Bill Joe in Green Day) telling me his life sucks, despite the money he must be making from album sales.
Rap is real. Some at least. You must also remember that just as rock has a lot of good stuff and a lot of crap, rap does as well. You can't judge a whole musical form by one genre alone. But, reading your post, you also sound like you have a chip on your shoulder. Are you angry that "all" they do is stand in front of a mic and scream? Whoops, there goes heavy metal. Or that they talk fast? Whoops, there goes kid rock, korn, and a million other bands.
But, if you scrolled down and read my post, you would see that I am not a real big fan of rap. I'd rather listen to rock. Its a cultural thing. I'm a 20-something white guy, its not my fault =) I advise you, however, to look at rap with an open mind. There are some valuable gems to be found.
