There are some people who enjoy talking a lot in the game room and setup room while we are trying to get things going. I think we all enjoy this time as humorous and friendly but it at times gets out of hand. I like to play ROR and spending more than 10 minutes just talking about idle matters can border on frustrating. This is especially true when some people are trying to vote on team setup and others are having conversations regarding non game matters. One of the APC premises is the desire to have fun and if too much time is spent on the setup then it is not fun anymore. I think people are willing to compromise, I just think we all need to be sensitive to the other gameplayers and what they are trying to do. I enjoy the talking time to get to know other players but there are limits and let us all remember that.
The second part of my point is more serious. Last night "youthful" went crazy with taunts and crazy ramblings. We all had "spoon" ringing through our ears until we !mute(d) it. Even then our attempts at assembling teams was lost in the cascade of numbers on the screen. We told "youthful" our unhappiness with what they were doing and they apologized and we hoped that was the end of it. However, later "youthful" also insulted an apc player pretty harshly and when this person dropped called them a skank. This went way beyond what I consider tasteful and I will not play with this person again until I have heard from the offended party that they were apologized to.
Finally I want to address my smurfing the other day. I intended it for fun but I do not want it to get contagious. I am sorry if my actions lead others to do likewise and anyone gets hurt feelings from it. This is a game we are playing, but real people we are playing it with. Be sensitive and have fun out there.
