Yesterday I played the best RoR game ever. I came back from this stupid party and felt like playing a quick game. I jumped in the first the best open spot (Esquiline because Quirinal was full) and joined a 2vs2 huge coastal experience. So I had a few beers in my belly (4) and found myself at speed 1.5 again (I'm a hardcore 1.0 player in case you didn't know). To follow the story better you may take a look at the minimap below first (I was yellow).
I took Rome (my all time fav civ) and so did my ally. The enemies were Egyptian and Minoan. I had a pettyful start and a low amount of fishboats which resulted in quite a late tool and bronze time but I boomed a little bit. Until the 0:20 mark it was very silent, on both teams so I asumed my allies were playing Sim City.
Realizing my ally was a newbie I went quite defensive at first and build 3 forward barracks at 2 near his base. I also started towering up my base because scouting learned me I was on a peninsula and thus defending for a possible landing party from the sea. I had 800+ wood after bronzing and thus owned the sea pretty early with galleys.
So I went offensive very late. My broadsword party met a walled in Minoa (red at 6) with compies, stoners and a tower. Ack! I withdrew and got additional chariots and a few stoners. Offensive again I destroyed the wall and raised little havoc amoung red's ranges. Meanwhile I was Ironing and raided red a few more times and built forward workshops in preparation for a Roman siege showcase . After I Ironed I got the gov upgrades and built cats and ballistics. Now the Egyptian (orange at 9) came into action from the sea. My 8 spread out WG's weren't any match for his 20+ triremes so I lost all docks and food income from the sea except for the small amount of water at 12 where he didn't came. Since I now had 5K wood I boomed triremes from my dock there. Suddenly my ally resigns. WTF??? He wasn't even under attack or on the offensive . Investigating his land learned me he had 1 axer and the achievements later showed me he had a vill high of 11 . But why he resigned I still don't know. So it was me myself and I against both the Egyptian and the Minoan. I got more chariots from my 6 stables at 2 (near the barracks) and cats/ballistics from my forward base near red. A bit later I got a few scythes and owned red's base but his villies retreated to orange's base at 9. Then a massed Egyptian scythe army destroyed all I had there and moved on further to the north but met my next oncoming scythe wave at my workshops. I stopped him but lost almost all of the scythes. Then I tried with about 15 triremes to retake the sea but orange was very strong there and I lost the boatwar. I got more scythes and ballistics and some nice scythe battles went on between me and orange on red's land. Red sometimes had a dozen compies ready but they never really threatened me. I lost more trireme waves to orange's strong naval fleet backed up by his towers. Now I was getting cat triremes for those towers. I also built a dock at 6 and about 10 triremes there. I got the helepolis upgrade and build 3 extra stables and workshops at red's former base. My massed scythe/hele combo wiped all of red and orange away at 8 while I gave them taunt 40 (Brey you bastard ). 3 seconds later both red and orange resigned at the same time. Now I'm really happy about this game since it was the first time my multiplayer score goes over 1000 and I never won a 1vs2 game before. My pard didn't attack or lost a single unit in the game.
In the pics below you don't see the name Breydel but I used another nick which I like to keep secret. It isn't a name I use for smurfing but just one I use very rare when I'm in the Zone for a quick game or when I don't feel like communicating with other Zoners.
Timeline:
Game stats:
villager high: me: 59, orange 41, red 42, brown 11.More stats:
I had over 10000 gold collected, more than all 3 other players together (brown collected an amazing amount of 20 gold ). But I must say gold was surprisingly scare on the entire map.
I scouted 79% of the map, had 338 kills, 231 losses and 91 razings. The game lasted 1 hour 25 minutes and was played at speed 1.5.Conclusions:
Now I had some stronger games before and some of them even ended at the 0:20 mark but I never scored over 1000 or won a 1vs2 game. Both enemies where of slight lower skills than me I think but it certainly wasn't a walk over game.
