About the Scenario
This is the story of Moses: how he was rescued by an Egyptian princess, how he killed an abusive slavemaster, how he went to the land of the Midianites and spoke to God through a burning bush, and how he returned to Egypt with his brother Aaron and freed his people from bondage. Retrace the steps of Moses -- man, law-giver, and prophet -- and live the story that would become a legend.

Looks exciting. I've seen the movie from Dreamworks, which is just about this. And I liked that movie.

Somehow the old testament stuff has always been a popular topic among AoE 1 designers, ranging from the days of Imhotep's David Saga. It's nice to see something for DE as well. It's quite a Christmas gift! Your uploads have been approved Al_Kharn!

By the way, Kataphraktoi, I appreciate all your feedback here in one place, but AoE Heaven's community is relatively quiet so might be good to generate some conversation there as well
Good point Previous discussion for those interested.

I quite like this scenario! Bit too easy on the end since the enemy is passive, but still. The opening had me scratching my head for a second until I realize blind old men must be able to hop into rafts. Thought it was a fishing raft. After I gained control of moses I poked around a bit to find a healer and was going to snipe everyone down while healing, but I was too careless and got the healer killed;had to take off out of the city with little health and barely escaped emalite soldiers. At the village I had to revisit the jibaiting tactic with the phalanx earlier, this time using the villagers back and fourth in front of moses to kill off the enemy units since only a few hits would finish him. Now it was a bit easy to build up and get fully upgraded units to steam roll the emalites. I used compies at first then switched to chariot archers by the time I attacked the hebrew camp area. These soldiers repelled one assault but I build 3 ranges near my new temple and wiped them out with more chariot archers. Then I rolled into the main city with a dozen or so and engaged and killed off the units protecting their pharohs. This seemed quite tricky as I accidentally aggroed the pharohs, but after carefully killing off the purple units and deleting my own chariot archers, nine of my priests converted them fairly handily. After this was a great confusion as I didnt win, and after studying the map and the objectives for some time realized I needed to delete the egyption barracks which I had converted

Sounds like a good time. I had to stretch my mind a bit to figure out how to turn the episodes in Moses' life into an Age of Empires scenario, but I think it worked out well! It also helped me understand just how impressive Imhotep's fantastic David Saga series is. If you have not played it, I recommend you check it out. They were two of my favorite campaigns as a kid.
