Leads me to ask a question: Why do I keep getting these bugs? One effect is that bring object to object stops functioning normally, and you don't die if the object is killed prematurely, and this time something even crazier happened, discoveries started appearing all over the map! Could there be a way to debug it?
Is there any way to hack a file so you change the map size and keep the rest? I'm pretty sure that would make an error.
Well I'm going to smash my computer now, good day.
Edit: Hang on, I had a victory condition of Global find 50 discoveries. I'm not sure why, it was just something to disable it completely. Maybe that causes it. I wish I knew what was causing the bring object to object/area bug, saved game crashes were eventually figured out, anyone ever had this problem before or have any ideas?
I think I have to recycle bin this scenario b/c I need to use BOTO and BOTA a lot and I can't have this bug messing it up. I encountered it last scenario too, but I managed to deal with it since I had so much work done by then. Ingo said to fight your bugs but this one I don't know how to fight.
Edit: I just rescued it from default 1, and guess what happened? I fixed the discovery bug (it places them randomly if there are not enough), and I checked the old (ruined) scenario to see if it really still had the bug. It did, then I went back to default 1, and mother ******* son of a ***** it was overwritten with the messed up scenario, god I can't believe my luck, this sucks!
Edit: Oh and I've just broken my mouse. It still works, but I've cracked the casing pretty bad.
Aside from all the mass profanity there is a lesson here
1 Make a ridiculous number of saves
2 Don't save if you see anything that looks like a bug. If you do make it a new save
3 If you lose the file go to default saves, and if it is them, make a proper save of it before you do anything else.
Man am I the stupidest idiot or what? Damn, I can't believe I justr got it back then lost it again, ahhhhhh!
At least I put the piece that I broke off the mouse back on.
Yet another edit: I've got it working again, I think the problem was that the object gets deselected in the individual victory section and somehow it doesn't count if you lose, but it does still count if you use that object to win. Very strange, I'm sure this is a different version of the bug, b/c I have had it before and I'm sure it can't be that. I'll try it on my River God scenario, if it was the same thing as this I will start designing from that map again since I have so much done.
I've seen it in another players scenario too, Stopping Mor Havoc (demo), same bug. Let's hope I'm right.
So this has basically been a rant about nothing, and lot's of talking to myself.
