The section on defensing early attacks prompted me to try a villager rush. I stormed the city, killed a few villagers, and then settled in on the TC. A few minutes later I noticed the enemy's villagers attacking my TC.
I had already rebuild some of my economy and I started to attack his villagers. My TC was almost destroyed. My oponent then built clubmen with the food he had left over and the six of them fought off my home base villagers (my mistake for fighting them) and qucikly macked my TC. After sacking my oponents base completely, I came back and killed the clubmen, thus winning the game. However, my oponent's strategy got me thinking. The CB guide tells you to stick around and defend the villager rush, yet counterattacking is and interesting idea, and perhaps you can even build up and army of clubmen, which in turn might allow you to have a winning army after all, when all the buildings are razed.
Tell me what you think.
