A typical example of no (or at least no useful) communications in a 3v3, large islands, gig map game:
- no communication for 15 minutes
- Teefax sends scout to opposite side of gig map: „Yellow enemy at 12“
- Answer ally: „I have been fighting him for 10 min“
- Teefax: „Why didn’t you tell us? What is he attacking with?“
- no answer
- isolated fighting/building for another 20 min
- message: „XXX (enemy) is building a wonder“
- Teefax to allies: „What shall we do now?“
- same ally as before: „Fight, stop playing sim city“
- wonder finished, game over
I especially blame the better players for not communicating enough in a game. Beginners and rookies often have to struggle hard with the basics of the game and don’t know (yet) how to express themselves. Language and typing skills also play a role for sure.
In those games where I was lucky to have partners who were willing to share and co-ordinate - and where I was lucky enough to survive long enough Teefax
