Just something I have been thinking. My first thought was the Babylonians, since they have great defenses and Priests, letting then do a tactic based around basically "Hiding your Priests behind walls and have then convert your enemy units safely", but the thing is, by the end of the game, the Babylonians are a huge one-trick pony, where the Byzantines, well, werent. I guess there are also some paralels between the Byzantines and the Hittites in that they both are the typical jack-of-all trades of their respective games, but I still dont think it quite fits...

Another notable defensive civ is Choson with their +2 range towers, they have full access to Ballista Tower and Fortification. They have Ballistics but lack Alchemy (so no +1 attack from towers).

I think Byzantines more like Phoenicians. Many kinds of units, but lack critical techs.
