For a unit "that combines the speed and mobility of the Chariot and the attack strength of the Improved Bowman" Why does it get one extra range in its stats?

On the Yamato and Chariot Archers versus Compies: While plaiyng as the Yamato, there is one situation and one situation only on which I choose foot archers over cavalry archers, and that is when dealing with Camel civilizations, especially on the Bronze Age. Despite not being very often used, Camels are the only unit on the game that, on the Bronze Age, is both fast enough to catch up to Cavalry and strong enough to take it down: As usually the point of using a Cavalry/Chariot Archer combo is to use hit-and-run tactics, that makes the Camel a very obvious counter to this kind of antics. During the Iron Age, the Camel useability drops, but it is still perhaps the best counter in the game to Heavy Horse Archers, due to being almost as fast as it, having reasonable pierce armor and being very quick to kill it once it catches up.
