This is serious for me...
I am under attack and can't defend my self
I send a horseman to kill the enemy horseman which is attacking my village buildings...I've been wondering what happen to my soldiers for a while, now I've just seen it...I see my horseman approach his target...and when he gets within about 10 horse-lengths away, poof !, he just disappears !
It's as if the enemy have a magic shield around them.
How can I prevent this ?

Are your units being converted by enemy priests before disappearing into the fog of war?

Chariots are more difficult to convert than other units as well!

OK I'm going to accept conversion as the most likely answer, even though I can't see a priest, nor the cavalry man after he has been converted ("I see my horseman approach his target...and when he gets within about 10 horse-lengths away, poof !, he just disappears").
The reason I waited so long to finish this topic is that I now believe it is impossible to record a section of a game; the only time recording can turned on (it seems to me) is at the start of a game, and then one must record the whole game. Please correct me if I am wrong in thinking this.

Not sure, but FRAPS is usually pretty good at recording gameplay
