I have the same problem, but I don't understand how to use Customize AOE!
Can someone explain to me? I downloaded the folder but It shows me only a note when I open it up.

The ZIP file contains a program (CustomizeAOE.exe): extract it where you want, then run it as admin.
Use the menu to open empiresx.exe.
At that moment the program should propose to install automatically "technical fixes".
I recommend to confirm.
If you don't answer OK, you can click on edit, then in "Tech fixes/advanced" section, set "cd check collectors" to OFF.
If this doesn't work, then you may have a wrong ROR version.

Do you want to run empires.exe (AOE) or empiresX.exe (ROR) ?
AOE has a very limited support, very few options are available.
However, ROR 1.0c is fully supported, but you need to select empiresX.exe.
If you do so, you should see plenty of options.

You can try this, it can solve several compatibility issues and also makes the game compatible with windowed mode.
- Go in ROR_api/advanced section
- Enable the first 4 items (ROR_API_*).
- Make sure to copy ROR_API.dll (and ROR_API.conf) files to your AOE root directory.
Remove the "customROR.dll" line in ROR_API.conf file unless you actually want to use this mod.
