First the trial version is gone, now patches? What are MS doing lol.
What I don't like is that every other company is patching their old software and making it playable on new Windows OS. Plus they make a host of patches for playability, balance etc.
Even Sierra is still selling Space Quest and Gabriel Knight from the DOS era. They managed to get onside with the DOSBox team and ScummVM for emulation.
Meanwhile Blizzard is still updating and releasing patches for Warcraft III and older games.
Yet here we are with the Age series franchise which is still being sold from AOE original all the way to the newest. Yet they stopped our servers (did Blizzard axe their servers?). And now this final blow to our measly little patches.
What harm did those patches cause them? was their 6MB file size too large to carry? No, they removed our innocent little patches.
I couldn't handle the betrayal and I let them know on their current AOEO site.
Right or wrong, speaking for my self or representing others I don't know. But when I call MS a bunch of **** ***** ***** ***** and ***** I think I speak for everyone here

Though Blizzard does not recommend any Windows after XP for Warcraft III. My Warcraft III wouldn't play on my Windows 7 machine, I emailed their support, and they said they didn't recommend Windows Vista/7 since the patches aren't designed to work for them (or something along those lines) and the only thing they could do was to offer a refund.
