Hi there, guys!
As you can see, I'm a newbie, so forgive me if I've failed section... delete the thread or move it in the right area.
I've been a memorable player of AoE series (only AoE and AoE II, AoE III is, IMHO, another game), eight years have passed since I played them the last time. Now, I itch to play them again.
Unfortunately, theirs age show. Thus, are there any MODS that allow to improve the graphics quality or to increase the resolution of the first two chapters (with both expansions)?

There is a mod in the granary that allows higher resolution. At the moment there isn't a mod that improves the quality of graphics, and I dont think it likely that it will ever come.
Not to advertise, but you might want to try the Age of Italy Mod (ageofitalymod.webs.com), or some of the balance patches made by Rasteve.
The Age of Italy mod is basically a mod that focusses on the roman republic and early imperial period. It's based in europe, north africa and the middle east.
It has totally new tech trees, unique units and entirely new civs. It already has some new graphics and more are to be included in the near future. You can download the current version of this mod by clicking the link in my signature (see just below here).

Back in the late republican period I think that contemporary Chinese armies were the most powerful and numerous in the world, maybe in part because of the long warring states period which spurred military technology and tactics. With advances as the crossbow and the stirrup they could have posed quite a challenge even for the most advanced Hellenistic/Carthaginian/Roman armies. Same could be said about the Mauryan armies in India (but that empired lasted less than 150 years, still that's more than the unified hellenistic empire).
But I guess those civilization recommendations come too late for the inclusion in the mod... (which would give it a more 'global' approach instead of the current regional focus)
@suppy. Apart from my relative lack of interest in eastern history, I wanted to create a coherent game. I understand that ES included the Asian civs for marketing reasons, but I only included civs that actually have had contact with the Romans. Other civs would be irrelevant for the mod.
That said, it could fun if a asian based mod was to arrive, but I promise it wont be made by me, though I'm willing to offer advise/help to such a modding project.
I've tried the resolution MOD... I didn't notice so much improvements. Besides, the language game is also changed in English, I'm Italian... how can I restore the default settings?

Replace the languagex.dll file with the one on the disc, I think that will fix it. But it might also create problems with the mod, because it seems that the mod is using a custom languagex.dll file.
BTW I don't think there is a lot of room for graphics changes in the AoE engine. It only support 256 colors. It can be improved to look like AoE2, maybe a little bit better, but 256 colors is a very low limit.
I don't know if it is only me but besides the disproportionately small buildings and trees, I prefer the looks of AoE graphics over AoE II's

Fixed the language's issue, I have another important question: sometimes it happens that, when I try to load some saves, the game crashes. I also use more saves (about 4-5), but I can't load none of them. So I am forced to re-start the mission, and often the thing is quite frustrating.
What could be the problem? Please, help me!

That sounds like the patch bug, which happens when you try to save when there are flying missiles, such as arrows, on the screen. You can avoid it by saving when looking at a portion of the map without missiles.
Or alternatively by downgrading the game to patch 1.0b.

I have AoE version 1.0c and RoR 1.0a. Are the latest version? So I have to downgrade AoE, not the expansion, to 1.0b? How can I do it?

Well, I agree partially. The buildings in AoE2 were amazing, they were very detailed, but the terrain was bad. AoE1 terrain and AoE2 buildings would kick ass.
