Does this do ANYTHING? I looked at all the ancient "ask sandy"s, but he never answered anything to do with cheat codes for some reason.
All the internet websites appear to say it gives you "invincible armies" which is complete garbage. It makes nothing invincible. In fact it appears to do nothing at all. I have searched for years (yes YEARS!) for its true purpose, but never found it.

Is Zeus supposed to be cheat of some kind? I've never heard of it before.
Edit: I looked it up, and it should either make villagers invincible or make the army invincible, but nothing seems to happen when I try out the cheat. Not in Aoe or in Ror

Yes, it's supposed to be a cheat, and the game recognises it as such, but it appears to just do nothing.

Yeah, I believe it was originally meant to have a similar cheat effect, but was later removed. I think I heard it might have an effect in one of the beta versions of the game, but I can't remember.

It was, and is a leftover in all the genie-engine based games (not sure about SWGB).
I found out what it supposedly did on Telcontars site a few years ago. This is from a newsie on the AoE beta site:
"It seems the mysterious Zeus cheat code has finally an explanation on what it does, or was supposed to do. As some of you might know, there is a weird cheat code called "Zeus" which works in all Genie-based Age games, from the Age of Empires Late Beta to the retail versions of both Age of Empires and Age of Kings.
As you might recall, I asked Sandy in the "Ask Sandy" thread at Age of Kings Heaven about it last year, but he did not reveal what it was ment for. Upon searching through the news archive of Telcontar's Age of Empires site again today, I stumbled upon the explanation on what it did. It was found by Omer and was posted by Telcontar on november 4th, 1997:
Zeus cheat code This is from Omer: "I found wath that mysterious cheat zeus was: It was used to control cheats but was not included in the final version."
Which means it was used to disable or enable the regular cheat codes. He's not entirely correct about it not being in the final version, as I already mentioned it is still recognized as a cheat code in all Genie-based Age games. You can find the news post on this page of the news archive."
So basically it could turn cheats on or off, similar like in multiplayer, and I believe it was used for multiplayer purposes during development.
