I kind of suck at these....there's everything to upgrade, and I don't know what to spend more resources on...
I don't make AEs, because then the enemy will convert them or have a load of Helepolis...
Horse Archers don't seem as effective, and are always getting stuck under catapult fire...and cost tons of gold, as do priests...
I guess I should just build a lot of siege and scythe chariots? The rest villies to take out the forests. I'm not that great in cram maps like Medit, DM...

Don't make at the beginning cheap army, use cheap army until no one has more resource to spent try to upgrade only 2 units you will use don't upgrade everything or you won't be able to do much. Concentrate on water and then land try to paint his base after you had like 32 villagers, all the pit from gold, stone, 5 town center and 4 more on forest. It will also depend how they attack of what kind of unit to counter more of a practice situation than a theorical explanation.
