In a scenario I am creating, you lose if the enemy kill 5 or more of you're villagers. Thing is, when you assign a villager a task they change to forager, gold miner et cetera and it is not recognized as a villager. Thus the enemy can ride down as many woodcutters as they like and you won't lose. The only way you lose due to this is if you order villagers to attack the enemy or you simply never assign them a task. And this stuffs up the entire logic of the parameter.
Does anyone know if there is a way around this? Thanks.

Correct, villagers and villager heroes are bugged in an annoying way (heroes turn into normal villagers when you even accidentally assign them a task).
Btw, it's better to bring up such questions in the scenario design forum.

The first time i noticed the villager hero bug i was using hero Medusa i think. I thought it would make a great fromt line resource collector, of course i lost it because i assigned him to collect resources...i was so disappointed.
