I can't believe this site has been around this long and I've just finally found it.
I hate new strategy games. They're so incredibly anal retentive. A frenzy of non stop searching for where the computer opponent has already rebuilt his entire city while you're barely halfway through destroying the first one. Units that have no effect on other units, constant micro management of military units with many people griping about the micro management of managing the actual build up of your civilization (something I actually enjoy).
For years I've tried to interest my online gaming buddies in this last great original in order that we might trade maps to no avail. They won't even look at anything this old. Then I find this today. Glory be and all that!! Hooray!!
I keep getting timed out trying to download campaigns (on dsl) but I'm sure that's just a temporary server site issue.
Now, besides being happy at finally finding this, I found it while looking online for descriptions of the strategies in the editor. In the manual it says that full descriptions of the strategies are on the disk in a readme or docs file. However, there is no such description in either of these. Nor are there any instructions on how to include cinematics in one's scenarios/campaigns. I can do without the cinematics but if anyone knows an archive describing all of the strategies in the editor (i.e. - "choson - water"), I would surely appreciate it as it will take some of the stagnation of my random strategy builds.
thanks a bunch and thanks for still being here!
