Why Es donīt make a new patch to solve a lot of problems?
For example to solve:
-Allow computer player to make 200 pop
-increase compatibily with windows xp and vista
-decrease crash in games

10 years passed , I think itīs possible to solve these problems.

It's common in the games industry. Once say a year or two has passed companies stop making patches for their games. The only exception I know of is Blizzard and they're still patching games that are like a decade in age.

As for the AI's, it's possible to create new AI's which will take advantage of higher pop limits though I've never got them to build the additional housing though maybe that's just me. There's a Persian DM AI floating around somewhere on the site that you may be interested in.

Yes i think the pop limit definitaly needs upped to at least 100. Sometimes i feel im struggling to have units due to having an navy and an army and on top of that villagers... and u can only have a max of 50?? Ive always thought this needed upped or maybe a new technology to allow more population!!

I run vista, and yes we need better support although it isnt that big of an issue, just a few minor issues!

If you want to improve the game, I would suggest reading up on AI and PER files in the siege workshop to learn how to make AIs that train 200 units. I'm currently working on a full adaption of it, expected to take a rather long time.

I'm still learning.

I have worked with the AI Editor and Per Editor , to force AI to make 200 pop. With the original exe it doesnīt work but with the mod pack "RORpopLimit" allowing to make 200 in single player and multiplayer it works. The AI can make 200 pop if only you place the houses (~40) for the computer before the game in the editor scenario(because computer make only houses for 50 pop).I have already make 1600 pop in a map (8x200pop) if only there is no fights .However the game crash practically, especially when the fights start even in a 1v1 with 200 pop with computer player.
ES should modify the original code or put a patch to correct these issues.Because if there is no crash the game could be interessant with a computer making 200 pop , there would be more strategy.

I play DM and RM only on RoR because of the RoRPoP200 program.

ES have no interest in AoE anymore - its hardly a money spinner.

For pop limit:

As for the rest, Lorenzo got it right. I think the huge amount of fan modding compensates for it though.

I once read that a patch for a game costs through $125,000 - $250,000 per update, which of course Age of Empires is no longer making money therefore they see it as a lost. I would however be interested in seeing a 10 year limited edition version of Age of Empires where they go back and update it into 3D and add in new civilizations, scenarios, formations, etc.

New stuff you say?

Further proof you don't need M$ to do stuff for you
