Topic Subject:Will Microsoft keep AoE/RoR trial games forever?

I think I told you I just got a new computer. The first thing I did was to download the trial games for AoE, RoR, and AoK. (I have the full versions on discs.)
In some ways the trial versions of AoE/RoR surpass the "real" games themselves. (I nearly go into orbit with the music for AoE trial! And I love the Hittites.)
I hope Microsoft will preserve these. They are gems.
I have a CD Write thing on my computer (if I can learn how to use it) and so maybe for myself I can burn these jewels on a CD for all time preservation.
But there is not a newer and more powerful game out there that stirs my soul like the opening music to the AoE Trial!
I think Phil once said it was "Magic," and so it is.

Hmm, I thought the demo music was the same as the original? My game is the version that comes with midi music though, maybe yours is the track music?
Btw, since AoEH is the official site for AoE/RoR, shouldn't we have the demo available for download too?

I don't notice the music because I'm just listening to my own music with media player or something.

The Hittite Trial campaign is typical Age of Empires with better gameplay, better instructions, arguably better graphics and something that makes me feel good when playing it.
While sausages are tasty, you might cut your finger with that pencil over there.

LittleFreak is right. The Hittite campaign has a much better 'feel' than the retail version. The instructions are by far better and the gameplay is more interesting.

The trials are indeed magical. If ES didn't make them so perfect I wouldn't be here right now.
Good idea though, I might put the trials on a CD my own, but I think they'll remain nline for a few more years.
I have the trial version downloaded right now so whenever I wanna play it I can It is still great fun.

The trial campaigns are currently available in the granary... Under misc. I think. If microsoft does get rid of them, it shouldn't matter all too much.
Never played the trials, but the amount I've heard about them I really should.
