Topic Subject:How is Game Spy working out now that we have lost the Zone?

Someone in my family called me long distance the other day and asked me to play AoE with them online. I had to explain that the great online experience we used to have is no longer available.
I went to MSN to see just what was there now. Good grief. Have you seen the insipid list of games it supports? Want to play Checkers? How about Chicken Invaders? Dominoes?
Am I looking at the wrong list? Surely the Zone is alive with something else...
It mentions going to Game Spy. What is your experience with Game Spy?
How are those of you who loved playing on the Zone handling this?

I am handling life without the Zone by having all contacts on MSN Messenger. All of the Zone regulars are still playing daily by talking on MSN Messenger and playing IP games.
Actually I have been pleasantly suprised at how effective MSN Messenger is for matchmaking. I have 54 players on MSN Messenger, and usually there are at least 10-20 players logged on. At peak hours we get 3v3s in, and slower times we get 2v2's in. It really hasn't been much different than when we had the Zone.
Can you survive the Blitzkrieg?

I agree. And sometimes players might be online but just not logged in to the Zone (like me in the past).
Anyway, I went to Gamespy a couple of weeks ago and there was hardly anyone there in the AoE/RoR room. I think there were about 30+ people, and only like 5 games being set up. The rest were noobs spamming the chat area. I set up a Medit game and left it there for a whole hour, yet nobody even entered once. I asked somebody where all the Zoners went to, and they pointed to Empires Legacy or something... I tried that one too but I think the website sucks. The links are broken and I can't even download the client to play.

Even when the Zone was still alive, I used only Gamespy, since the Zone was not too cooperative. I tried playing on Gamespy three times and all were very poor experiences. Maybe 7 other people were there and it seemed very hard to get a game going. Maybe two or three rooms were present, one of them had a rotting, lifeless corpse in it, so the game couldn't be launched, and other room just launched the game strangely for me.
Based on Duan Xuan's description, it sounds a bit... not as bad.

Since you've already posted at AoKH, and this Vetev site you mention doesn't even have RoR, then please scram. I take your nonsense as spam and regard it as an attempt to troll.
In short, go away.
*edit* Btw thanks for clarifying, Ninhja. I was kind of confused because he's not making any sense.
