Hello everyone
Err... I wasnt sure where to place this, as its not scenario design, but anyway, im making a mod for AoE in my spare time (not much else to do) and ive found it to be ridiculously easy (its 2-D :P ) but the only problem I have is with modifying the actualy code itself. After looking through the DRS files, I found the bulk of the game to be in Interface.drs, but the game files are all in .bin format... how do I get around this?

This is a total conversion, by the way, so im changing all the graphics.

Edit- Also, I was playing around with the Nuke Trooper, but I couldnt seem to find the projectile that the Nuke Trooper (laser one, not the ones with Tac-Nukes) uses. I mean, I want to change it from Photon weapons to something that looks more like a machine gun, so does anyone have any idea how the projectiles work for them?

Well basically the effects of arrows flying is just a moving graphic I believe. As for the interfac.drs, it can be opened using stoyen rachev's drsbuild utility to extract files and other data. Unit data, such as stats, are all in empires.dat and must be edited using a hex editor. As of now, there are no easy ways to modify the unit stats. Interfac.drs I think is just where files for the UI are stored, I could be wrong.
