But here? I am Sara! (or SaSa408 or my married named via Auggie - sasa408)
Are they just going high tech on us? And I read here that the Zone is closing all AoE games, well maybe not their latest.
Also, I don't know if any of you ever played Ants, a great little game, on the Zone. That has been shut off, too.
Bigger is better? High tech is better? (I quote from the Episcopal Prayer Book : "Good Lord, deliver us!")
Maybe it is about money. Or about the appetite of some who want more - more - more. Or about mind blowing graphics.
But it distresses me.
I bought Age of Mythology. It is now uninstalled. I bought Age of Kings. Also uninstalled. But on my computer - and any future computer of mine - will always live AoE, RoR, and the beautiful, wonderful trial versions of each.
And with each, many happy memories of games and talk here,
of trying to get old Hannibal over the Alps, and of the trying times I had with the 2nd scenario of the Trial Punic Wars. And all the little helpful games Peter created to help me win it!
Oh well. Time moves on. But in the smoke left by the fast trains that seem to be leaving us, let us hold to the things that are truly meaningful and magic.
