Hello,

I play quite a few games online, but I am having an issue with AoE. We have multiple PC's in our home, on a wireless network.

What we want to do is have two people (in our home) playing AoE in the zone, in the same game with other folks online.

Right now, can't seem to launch if we are both in the same game on the zone. We are both patched up, we both have a game CD in machine, I have all the proper ports forwarded to both of our machines. I'm somewhat at a loss - I've read through past multiplayer posts, and read the FAQ's and can't seem to find an answer. Either of us seperately can enter a game with other zone players with no problem, but if we are both in a game that launches, it fails.

Any thoughts?

I remember SuN_Cam_Popov posting about this a few years ago here. Search his name and maybe you will find the thread. It requires something out of the ordinary, but I can't remember what it was.

If popov's post doesn't help. Maybe try this:

I'm wondering if you could launch a game from the zone with 1 computer in your house; then have the other house computers ip in.

I thought the IP thing might work, but once the game is launched, I can't detect the other game on the internal network. I will keep working on it though, and I will search for the other thread mentioned.

Wow, just received a mail about this thread cuz my name popped up. Was surprised at first.

Hi everyone Howdy Blitz? Leper? Hey yo guys.

Anyway, down to the subject.

You can have 2 computers playing in 2 differents games (with 2nd puter using a private ip, aka, 198.0.0.0). You can do that cuz the zone is NAT friendly. For example, you cant do that on B.Net where you need 2 ip coming from ur ISP sicne B.Net isnt NAT friendly.

But, if you wanna have both puters in the same game, you gonna need 2 ip from ur ISP. You can try playing around all you want, thats how it works.

I did everything I could and I know several guys (Bard and his bro Rotherson for example) who also tried at first with only 1 ip and 1 private ip but it never worked in same game 'till they got 2 ips from their ISP.

This is what I had to do too. With 2 ips, it works flawlessly (at least ;P).

Hope this saves ya some time and gl. HF on the zone How many peoples play RoR nowadays? Did it dropped since AOE3 came out?.

Lates guys.

I'm still a booming hoe. Rushing is for people that can't micro a big economy....lol.

Your brother was playing a bit a month or two ago. He said you are still into Madden online alot. Is that where all of your time is spent then?

Played that for a while, not anymore tho. Played 2k3, 2k4 and 2k5 online and tried 2k6 but it gets too easy so got bored. Cant even enter the madden tourny accross the USA cuz I'm canadian, bah.

I'm in a pool league and its started a couples weeks ago (new season). Its addicting ;P

Cant boom, thats the only drawback. On the other hand, spots are more balanced then conti

So what are you gonna do for your booming fix? Play AOE III or come play with the big boys in RoR

It is still a nice little thrill to see a close forest and a couple dumbos to lure when you have a good civ. I still haven't found a game that gives me that same excitement.

You know you will own everyone regardless of their situation.

Most other games just don't have that raw power.

Wow, just goes to show how little I know this game. I don't understand half the jargon you guys are tossing around.
