First game was not worth mentioning at all, and I forgot to take screenies. It was a hills 2v2 game. We decided to go no reveal instead of the usual Korean setts (with reveal) as well as random civs. Ok, so the game starts and I hit the H key to start making villies. Good heavens, " Ok, whatever... I opened a medit game got a 1v1 going pretty quickly. Usual setts: large, no rev, default res, speed 1.5, 200 pop. I played as the Minoans and my opponent played Hittites (sheesh...). Uploaded some screenshots, so here they are: [This message has been edited by Duan Xuan (edited 12-30-2005 @ 00:43 AM).]
Looks like a pretty good start for me. I've even found my gold mine. There's a herd of gazelle by a forest, and an ele (not in the screenshot) south of my TC, also beside a forest. Way to kick off a series of Zone victories, I thought...
Docking at around 5:30, which is pretty decent.
Forgot to take screenies of my econ in Stone, but never mind. Here I am, going into Tool any moment. Usual procedure is to build a barracks at home during the transition period. Also lost one villie while hunting the elephant, darn it...
Missed out the whole chunk of my Tool age too... I got a 16min Bronze, and I have no idea why my opponent is so slow. I've organised my first attack and I'm preparing for a strike. Plenty of food for booming as well.
Forwards starting to paint the opponent's land. He can't come across now because I've dock-blocked that side. I'm playing poorly here. My base at home is still very small. Don't have much wood to boom because he's fighting pretty fiercely on the sea.
Already in Iron and I'm trying to keep up the pressure. I haven't made any progress on my attack. He's been holding out pretty well so far with CAs and STs. I'm getting the Catapult upgrade now. I need to race against time to raze his defence base. Minos can never hold out against Hittite if the latter gets to Iron. I know that only too well. If you still remember, the civ I hate playing against most is Hittite.
13 minutes later, he's Ironed and made quick work of my forward base. HAs eat compies, and Hittite Cats thrash normal ones with their double hitpoints. Good game, I guess?...
121 villies versus 81 villies. Considering my larger econ, I mined very little gold, hmm... Definitely something to work on in future games.
I advanced faster and bigger than my opponent. I guess the civ matters a lot eh?
