probably not what you should be doing yet, but here is my basic first 15 villagers.
build house with 2, explore looking for forest and elephants/deer or shore fish. I personally will search longer than most for resources, I don't mind a small delay on 1 villagers since it usually happens at some point with non-fast civs anyway.
About 75% of my games I go storage pit first. I put either 4 guys on shore fish or 5-6 guys on deer/elephant. Then every villager I build goes on wood. When I have enough wood I put down a dock, start building fishing ships, then put down another dock. When I'm out of my first food source, the food gatherers join the wood cutters. At this point all new villager build a granery and go on berries for my push to tool age.
Once I hit tool I usually have enough food from the berries + my 20 fishing ships to bronze, after hitting bronze build 15-20 more villagers, put down new Town centers by gold and by another forest, also a new town center by the other unused berries that are almost always around, keep building villagers and putting them on food, repeat with the other animals around. Its quite posible to have 80 villagers/boats, attack strong in bronze, and still iron in around 25-30 minutes this way.
