Ender: in all the games I have played so far, against a professional hittite, he has never built a single scythe, or even a chariot for that matter. Why? a hittite general doesn't have to use flooding tactics, they prefer using cats and ha's, it is a highly effective combo which can rip apart most armies; two bonuses fit for each other.
As for choson vs. hittite, they *do* stand a chance. Choson has everything a hittite fears: cheap, cat-busting infantry (only 60 HP less than an hcat!), perfect towers to discourage his ha's, and cheap priests to go on suicide cat missions. Elephants are considered slow and cumbersome by most hittite players, and well, if they decide to crank out a few, the choson ballista's will take care of it.
However, hittites do have a trick up their sleeve, as they do with almost every other race. They can build centurions. They can kill the legions, while the cats wipe out any helepoli attempting to shift the tide. Then the hittite can bring in his HA and massacre what is left of the choson resistance. A hittite might also drag CA onto the battle field to wipe out any priests. Then the cats can batter the towers freely.
Usually, however, hittite players see this opportunity too late. In one of my most memorable games, my random civ (choson) managed to beat a hittite despite overwhelming odds. I was trapped in my little corner, with few resources and an ailing wood supply. The hittite player, in their usual fashion, decided an ha/cat combo would be enough. However, thanks to my experience I knew how to counter a force of cats, multiple-direction attacks. The cats can't hit two places at once, its that simple to make a long story short, the choson towers discouraged the ha from coming close to my base, the legions repelled several cat attack attempts (even tho ha's were supporting the cats), and by the time the hittite realized it was time for a change of strategy, it was too late. Although his cents ripped through my base, my resistance was great enough to repel his first and second waves (although my base was ripped apart by then, ready for the taking). And he couldn't produce a second wave. Choson definetely stands a chance, once it gets through bronze.
