How is that possible, you'd ask. Well, to add insult to injury, the enemy catapults were... STATIONARY!
Since they were not jogging around (as the PC does so well) you'd ask how come "You're dumb or what?"
No, I was again fooled by an old trick:
If catapults are stationing immediatelly behind walls (close to them), they are VERY hard to hit by other catapults!
Don't ask me why - it just works that way, I tested it in the scenario editor to make sure...
I finally learned this one...
Here is how I have learned to take care of this:
General purpose: For good Catapult Civs only:
Send in a fast unit (Scout, cavalry, Chariot) and make it zig-zag near the wall (STOP frequently
Alternative (only when you have enough range! Without the siege upgrades your Catapults would be in range of theirs and die!): make each one of your cats hit the wall right in front of each enemy cat. Area damage will do it for you - and they won't be able to reach yours (2 tiles away from their maximum range, 1 caused by the wall itself
Alays learning...
Wise_Max is the slowest player on Earth.
But Wise_Max has a lot of fun playing. So, he always wins even when he loses the game. And he made Friends.
Is that Wise or what?...
