The game itself is highly improved, since now you can queue your units. Also the fog of war looks better. However, concerning my next projects, I'm not sure I'll promptly switch to RoR. These are the reasons:
1. Eye-cany: I simply cannot renunce to put all of those wonderful features (such as rocks and desert patches) on cliffs! It's my favourite eye-candy technique along with terrain rendering. Moreover, RoR's rocks look so microscopic and lame to me... And new trees don't seem to merge with the old ones (they seem to be ripped from AoK, don't they?)
2. New units: I can endure the zombie-like slinger, but I hate the ill-smelling camel rider! The only Camels I'm used to deal with are my cigarettes, although they smell too 3. A matter of Faith: I said it more than once, I'm devoted to AoE. Repeat, this doesn't mean I will NEVER make something for RoR, but my main board of development will always be the good, old, immortal Age of Empires.
