Hey, I am The Great Briton, Lorenzo and Phill will recognise me from EEH and I also hang out at OD and other heavens. And I'm also a member of Woad.
Anyway I've been lurking for a while and I finaly decided to register. I re-installed AoE a few weeks ago and I forgot how good it was... although the editor looks a bit primitive since I haven't used it for about four years...
It won't let me register with "The Great Briton" (I probably registered here months ago and forgot about it!) so I'm The Great Briton.

Hi, welcome to AoEH, TGB. Well, you can't register under the same name on the two databases because your "original" name (ie. The Great Briton) has been "reserved" over here in preparation for the future database merger. Just keep the emails the same for Zen's convenience.
Do you have RoR? You play on the Zone?

No, I don't play online, I just design. (Hey, that rhymes!)
But yes, I've got RoR. I bought AoE Gold years ago, but I uninstalled it after I started playing AoK. Now I've re-installed it.

Aww... what's the fun in designing if you don't play it? Come on man, pop the CD into your drive and start playing.

Desiging rules. Much more constructive than playing multiplayer. The mere thought of actually playing a game brings me out in a cold sweat. *shudders*
And its The Great Briton not The Great Britan. Actually, folks just call me TGB.

Mmm, that's odd... So you spent all the money, bought the game, just so that you can design for others to play?

Well I don't design for others, I design for myself coz it's fun.
Anyway when I played AoE I didn't "design", I just mucked about in the Editor. Even when I first played AoK I had no idea what triggers were. It was only when I bought Empire Earth that I really got into designing.
Besides, I'm crap at actually playing RTS games anyway!

Well, it doesn't hurt to try. Who knows, you might be great at AoE and start thrashing me on the Zone...

Well, if it's anything like random map then I won't like it. Random Map is boring.
Even if it isn't, I know I wouldn't like it. There's no story, it's just Romans vs Greeks on a generic map, or something like that. I like nice deep storylines, which is why I don't mind playing the campaigns. But designing is nice. When you've spent monthso n a scenario it feels good to finish it.
